Substance Use Disorder

This is a problematic use of a substance or substances leading to impairments in all aspects of life. In our program we use a combination of medications, individual therapy, and group therapy to address the problems of mis-use, and we also keep focus on what mental health conditions lead to the mis-use of the substance. We treat the mis-use condition, while treating the underlying cause of the condition. We individualize each program to meet you where you are on your road to control of your substance use.

Medically Controlled Outpatient Detoxification

There are substances that you cannot just stop without serious side effects. The side effects can be intense, but we will do everything we can to alleviate the intensity to make the process as smooth as possible. You will be able to go home, with medication, to go through the process. There will be a doctor available to you 24 hours a day.
If you goal is to completely stop, or if your goal it to be switch to a different substance, we can help.

We detox patients from many different substances, some of the most popular substances we detox patients from are opioids (ex: oxycodone, percocet, heroin, kratum, and fentanyl), benzodiazepams (ex: xanax, clonazepam), and alcohol.

Buprenorphine

Buprenorphine (aka Suboxone) is used as an alternative medication to opioids. Opioids that are commonly abused are Percocet, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, heroine, fentanyl, and kratum. We will give you medications to make the time it takes to get the substance of abuse out of your system comfortable. Then, when the substance is low enough, we will start buprenorphine. We continue buprenorphine as long as you would like. It can be a couple of weeks, months, or even years, but when you are ready, we will gently decrease the buprenorphine.

We also offer Sublocade. Sublocade is an injectable buprenorphine that’s injected once a month.

Naltrexone

Naltrexone is an opioid blocker. Naltrexone can reverse the effects of opioids, and it can be used to block receptors so opioids will be blocked. We offer oral naltrexone, and injectable naltrexone (aka Vivitrol).

Naltrexone also works excellently in alcohol use disorder. Naltrexone can help decrease heavy drinking days.

Psychotherapy

This is the cornerstone of our mental health program. We add on other modalities to help with therapy, but at the core, our team works together to enhance the work you do in psychotherapy.
We use a variety of different methods to help you. Some of the modalities we use are cognitive behavior therapy, humanistic therapy, psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, Interpersonal psychotherapy, and many others. The specific treatment modality we use with you would be based on your individual case.

This is a form of therapy where people with similar problems and concerns come together, with the guidance of a therapist, to work together to help each other. There is a lot of insight that comes with hearing someone with similar problems discuss the way they deal with their problem. The discussions are all guided by one of our skilled therapists, that have insight and a different perspective to share with the group.

Ketamine Assisted Therapy

Ketamine is an effective medication that helps patients suffering from depression and other mental health challenges. Ketamine clears the receptors to decrease the effects of ketamine, and it can help open the mind in psychotherapy.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a non-pharmacological treatment for many mental health conditions. In general, we can alter the brain by using therapy to change the way we think, psychopharmacology to alter the brain chemistry, and we can use transcranial magnetic stimulation to alter the electrical current of the brain.

Neurofeedback/EMG

This has to be the coolest and most cutting-edge technology we have! We are literally able to map out your brain waves, determine which mental health condition they are most likely to match with, and then use the power of your own brain to play video games that will help change the way your brain works. It's utilized with everything from depression to ADHD to more.

The Test of Variable Attention

The Test of Variable Attentions (aka The TOVA Test) is a tool that provides us with objective measurements of attention and inhibitory control. In other words, it helps measure a patient's attention and ability to control, which can support a diagnosis of attention deficit disorder.

Traumatic Brain and Stroke Evaluation and Treatment

We offer an extensive screening to evaluate patients with traumatic brain injuries or injuries from a stroke. Then based on those results, we can design therapy to help you improve the parts of your brain that were damaged. It is not a cure, but it can help improve the symptoms of the brain trauma.

Couples Therapy

This is counseling designed to help couples understand and resolve problems, concerns, and conflicts in their relationship. These meetings are designed to have both members of a couple present at the same time to discuss the problems in their relationship while one of our therapists help guide the meeting toward a productive end. Members of the couple can also see one of our other therapists individually for their own needs.
